PROOF ResearchPROOF Research PXT AR barrels represent a new evolution in barrel technology, combining advanced rifling geometry with the performance and precision shooters have come to expect from PROOF. PXT - PROOF Exponential Twist - is a complete rethinking of conventional rifling design and twist progression, engineered to reduce engraving force, minimize throat erosion, and create a smoother transition as the projectile engages the rifling.

Does not Disappoint!!
Finally got the PROOF PXT in for my SBR. Had a Noveske 12.5" but switched it our for a 14.5" Proof PXT in 6ARC. Well I got to say this barrel does not disappoint. I was very impressed with the accuracy. I shot Hornady 108gr ELD-M, 105gr Black and Frontier 105gr ball. The ELD-M and Frontier were surprisingly almost the exact same group size but Frontier SD and ES was WAY better which was a huge surprise. ELD-M 5 shot group was .25 MOA ( Avg-Vel 2479, SD 15.5 , ES 43.6 ). Frontier 7 shot was .32 MOA (Avg Vel 2428, SD 10.7, ES 21.3). I had one flyer in each group I shot but I called it so I don't count it but if I did, still very impressive groups. I also shot All three variations of ammo out of my newly built Impact NBK w/ 20" Proof barrel. Got very similar ES and SD's but the Frontier was much more accurate. Group size of the 20" bolt gun averages were about double of the 14.5" gas gun PXT barrel so that's very impressive. So long story Short, I'm buying a bunch of Frontier since its considerably cheaper than both ELD and Black. I have never been impressed with Hornady Black in any of my 6 ARC's in the past either so results weren't too surprising. I want more data on the PXT barrel but I am sold on the technology and if it holds true to the advertising its gonna be a great option for more of my rifles in the future.
